Biggest American Wine Suppliers

My wife and I had several guests over for lunch the other night. We enjoyed a great meal and later we sat upon our patio with a glass of our preferred after dinner wines. My guests know of my current pastime of blogging. They began to mock me about how We learned enough regarding wine and associated topics to write regarding them. My answer was simple "I conduct substantial research on the web to gather information for my articles and Blog posts." One of my personal guests said, "If you know so much, who is the biggest producer of wine in the United States?". I said, "I do not know, however, you have given me an idea for my personal next article". After everyone remaining, I immediately went to research an answer to the question.

Wine manufacturing in the United States has been going on for well over Four hundred years. Every state in the union has some wine production actively occurring. The states associated with California and Wa are the undisputed leaders in American wines production. California can boast that 90 percent of wine consumed in the united states is produced in which state. As it turns out, the actual U.S. may be the fourth leading wines producer in the world with France, Italy and Spain taking the best three ranking places.

I reviewed a number of sources to discover who the top U.Utes. wine producers are. All the sources I found had the same top four listed, but there were some variations in the "Top Ten" list next. Near as I could inform, the lists symbolized data compiled during different years, which can be the primary factor that triggered the lists to vary. Based on 2004 info, the top producer of wine in the country creates 300 percent much more that the second producer on the list. The next 2 top producers produce over 200 percent more than the fifth highest wine producer will.

The largest producer associated with wine in the U.S. is E. & J. Gallo. In 2010, this privately owned wine company is honoring its 77th birthday. This organization has annual revenues of $1.7 million, employs around 5000 people, has an annual American sales volume associated with 66 million cases and sells wines in more than 90 countries. The company founded by the Gallo brothers continues to have many second and third generation family members with roles in the commercial (source: Wine Business Monthly, Review of the: The Top 30 U.S. Wine Organization Profiles, February Fifteen, 2008).

Constellation Brands is the second leading producer of wine within the U.S. Annual United states sales volume is Fifty nine million cases along with another 53 million cases sold on the planet market outside the Ough.S. The strength associated with Constellation Brands is it's widely diversified profile of wineries and brands. In the United States, Constellation Manufacturers employs about Three,200 people of which 500 previously worked for Beam Wines Estates of Rick Beam Whiskey fame. This company is the leading seller of wine in Canada and lays claim to be the biggest producer of "premium wines" within the U.S.

The number three producer, The Wine Group is a Bay area based company that has an annual sales volume of 44 million instances. It once was a part of The Coca-Cola Company. Bronco Wine Organization is the number four maker with a U.S. sales volume of Twenty million cases. Foster's Wine Estates with a Ough.S. sales volume associated with 20 million cases holds the fifth position.

While it is interesting to understand who the top wine producers are, you will find great numbers of lower companies that create great wines. It still boils down ultimately to what wine suits your palette. As I usually say, buy the wine you like, store it properly in a wine cooler, serve it at the proper temperature and enjoy it immensely.
